Personal statement

Karen joined Strathclyde Business School in July 2018, having previously worked in the Centre for Continuous and Advanced Manufacturing. She has worked in the higher education sector for 15 years in a variety of different positions and institutions, including External Relations and Events, PGR Support, and Departmental Administration. She has a PhD from the University of Aberdeen in Literature and Religious Studies and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (now part of AdvanceHE). As Senior Faculty Officer (Academic & Accreditations), Karen is responsible for effectively delivering and managing a broad portfolio of internal and external quality assurance activities and initiatives. She supports the operational excellence for the management of the Faculty’s academic and accreditation activities, including EQUIS and AACSB, and in collaboration with Strathclyde Executive Education and Development Unit (SEED), AMBA. She manages the Faculty Academic and Accreditations team for the Business School, and works in partnership with the Vice-Dean (Academic) and related Associate Deans in ensuring the consistency of academic delivery and implementation of initiatives that positively contribute towards the delivery of the University and Faculty’s strategic 2030 objectives and beyond.
